# CLI reference

> Use the current release without cloning a repository.

Most users can ask their agent in ordinary language. These commands are for scripts and terminal use.

Use this prefix, followed by a command:

| `books --public --json` | List public books without signing in. |
| `login` | Connect through browser authorization. |
| `books --private --json` | List your connected private books. |
| `search "QUESTION" --json` | Retrieve relevant methods from your private library. |
| `ask "QUESTION" --book BOOK_ID --json` | Read evidence from a selected book. |
| `upload ./book.pdf --json` | Prepare and upload a source for hosted processing. |
| `quote BOOK_ID --ceiling-cents 500 --json` | Review rates with an example \$5 additional spending cap. |
| `accept-price BOOK_ID --quote QUOTE_ID --ceiling-cents 500 --json` | Start only after the user approves that quote and limit. |
| `status BOOK_ID --json` | Check processing progress. |
| `usage BOOK_ID --json` | Read saved usage and billing information. |
| `cancel BOOK_ID --json` | Cancel work and settle consumed usage. |
| `download BOOK_ID --output ./book-and-skill.zip` | Export a ready package. |
| `library install-book BOOK_ID` | Install one ready private book skill. |
| `logout` | Revoke this CLI connection. |

Use returned book and quote IDs exactly. The \$5 cap is an example, not a recommended book price. Approval belongs to the user. [Own-agent processing](/guide/own-agent) uses the `local` commands.
